Jackson Sheriff’s Sale
On the first Tuesday in November next, will be sold at the Court-House in the town of Jefferson, Jackson county, within the usual hours of sale, the following property, to wit: four hundred acres of land, more or less, lying on the waters of the Oconee River, adjoining Cochran and Doster: levied on as the property of James Monus, to satisfy a fi. fa. In favour of Boswell B. Degraffenried, vs. said Monus. Property pointed out by defendant.

Jackson Sheriff’s Sale

Fifteen Negroes, to with: Bill a man, about fifty years old; Harvey a man, about twenty-eight years old; Lewis a man, about twenty-two years old; Phillis a woman, about forty years old; Mary a woman, about thirty years old; Sealey a woman, about twenty-six years old; Malinda a woman, about twenty years old; Jane a girl, about ten years old; Charity a girl, about eight years old; Eliza Ann a girl, about nine or ten months old; Burton a boy, about four years old; Leander a boy, about four years old; Darian a boy, about two years old. Also, a life estate in two other negroes, to wit: Lucy a woman, about twenty-five years old; Milledge a man about twenty-four years old; levied on as the property of Edmond Taylor, to satisfy a fi. fa. Issued from Wilkes Superior Court in favor of David Micker and Joseph Oneal, vs. Edmond Taylor and Robert Harrison. Property pointed out by Allen Mathews, plaintiff’s attorney.
One hundred and fifty acres of land, more or less, adjoining Wilson; levied on as the property of Elijah Bearden, to satisfy two fi. fas. Issued from a Justice’s Court, one in favour of John H. Lowe, vs. said Bearden, the other in favour Lane and Wilmot vs. said Bearden. Levy made and returned to me by a Constable.
One Bay Horse, ten or twelve years old; levied on as the property of George Cowan, to satisfy a fi. fa. in favor of John Floyd, vs. said Cowan.
One lot in the town of Jefferson, lying on the South side of the main street, containing four Acres, more or less, adjoining Orr & Watson, running from the main street to Curry’s Creek, with considerable improvement thereon; levied on as the property of Charles Bacon, to satisfy a fi. fa. In favor of Timothy Bridgemena vs. Charles Bacon, and Benajah Dunham. Levy made and returned to me by Joseph Hampton, former Deputy Sheriff
